Brent Dix

Vice President, Engineering

Brent oversees development of industry leading products leveraging our SNAP®: the Things Platform, utilizing state-of-the-art tools and agile best practices. Our engineering disciplines include system design and architecture, industrial and mechanical design, as well as digital, analog and RF hardware design.  His teams are also responsible for implementing embedded, enterprise and web software development as well as design validation and compliance testing.  

Brent brings more than 25 years of experience developing leading-edge products in a wide range of industries including software-as-a-service (SaaS), semiconductors, digital video, and aerospace and consumer electronics.  His proven engineering leadership was instrumental in the success of prior companies Netpulse Media Networks (VP Engineering), FreedTV Systems (Co-Founder & President), Sirenza Microdevices (VP Engineering), Harmonic Inc. (Sr. Director Engineering) and Scientific Atlanta (Sr. Manager Engineering).

He developed the world’s first single chip, 5.8GHz ISM band transceiver, as well as a high performance, 108Mb/s, 802.11a WLAN chipset including an ARM-9 based baseband chip and a dual-channel 5.2 GHz radio chip. Brent holds a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering from Utah State University and an M.B.A. from Georgia State University.
